I went to the Hertz rental place that was on the Kayak website and it wasn't the correct rental place. The place Kayak setup was in Mexico not the Untied States so I had to call Hertz to change my rental. Then the price doubles + for the rental because it was the Hertz rental at the Airport. I was not happy at all. And the car they offer me is a Dodge Journey and they are junk too many buttons in bad places, very bad design. But I take it because I am all ready leaving and hour late. No I was not happy and will look else where next time I go.Reviewed Apr 22 2024

Kayak booked us a car in Tijuana when I had searched a car in SanDiego . To get a car when we arrived would have cost 5 times the price we booked for ! 🤬Reviewed Apr 1 2024

The office texted me while I was in the air flying to my destination and informed me they were closing the office and had no car to lend me. It put me in a precarious situation as I was traveling with my parents who are in their 90s.Reviewed Feb 26 2024

My reservation with Hertz called for the car to be picked up at San Diego Airport on Saturday at 3PM. When I got to the hertz pick up location I was told that someone had changed my pick up location to another Hertz office on the US side of Tijuana, Mexico, some 30 to 40 minutes away from the airport. Furthermore, there was no shuttle service to the alternate location. This was unsatisfactory to me and did not meet my requirements. As a result, I was forced to rent with some "no name" agency that normally services high risk customers. The rental from them was significantly more expensive, the car, although it ran well, had over 220,000 miles, had numerous scratches, a cracked windshield, worn upholstery and the cruise control didn't work. Furthermore, one of the tires kept leaking air and I had to put air in it on 3 different occasions. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Hertz or KAYAK nor will I use them in the future.Reviewed Feb 22 2024

I had a rough time getting my car. We booked Hertz from Santa Ana to San Diego. I had the same reservation in both car rental locations. But I had to pay an upgrade in San Diego. I was also charged 4x my quoted price which was annoying. I don’t recommend the San Diego Airport Hertz for your car rental. It seemed shady.Reviewed Jan 11 2024

Way too expensive. Went with personal car sharing for 1/2 the cost. If major companies like Hrrtz don’t adapt, they’ll be the next Blockbuster Video storeReviewed Dec 30 2023

They had no cars I had to take an electric car it felt like it was bait and switch. I’ve never used an electric vehicle and no one showed me how to do it. Frustrating and had to go the charging station 3x the first two times apparently I wasn’t doing it right. Had to ask someone else who was at the station how to do it.Reviewed Dec 26 2023

Robert at the pick up office was not at all helpful. Apparently this rental was for San Diego airport in Tijuana even though I entered San Diego Airport and my flight information. Robert said oh did you use Kayak? This happens often and was going to charge 2X what my original rental was saying the taxes were higher. Almost $600 for 5 day rental. I told him I was a Hertz gold member he didn't even try to look it up. This was 8pm at night stranded at the airport with luggage etc. I declined and went next door to Enterprise and payed a bit more than my original reservation from Hertz. Disgusting customer service and trying to overcharge whe someone was in a difficult situation. I went.Reviewed Dec 15 2023
