Indianapolis International Airport - IND Transportation

Inside the Parking Garage's lower level is a Ground Transportation Center. This center is a hub for making connections to various ground transportation options. Postings in the Center provide schedule information, routes, and prices.

As at all airports, what constitutes the best combination of convenience and price depends on the traveler and where in the local area they are going or originating from. Travelers who spend a little time investigating available options will likely be happier than those who do not.

Car Rental

Eight car rental agencies operate at Indianapolis International, including Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, and Thrifty. Their service counters are all located across from baggage claims 1 - 4 on Lower Level Terminal Drive.

Public/Ground Transfer

IndyGo is the Indianapolis city bus service. It runs 28 routes, including one that ferries travelers between the airport and downtown Indianapolis, with stops in the western parts of the city. The bus stop is located at the courtesy vehicle island across from the Northwest and Midwest Connect baggage claim. More information is available at: 317-635-3344 or at Indygo.

Not all hotels offer a courtesy airport service; check with the hotel about availability when making your reservations. The pickup point for hotel courtesy vehicles is at the courtesy vehicle island, immediately outside the Ground Transportation Center and across from US Airway's baggage claim.

Airport Shuttles

Shuttle bus service is available from Indianapolis International to Champaign/Urbana, Illiniois, Bloomington, Indiana, and Lafayette, Indiana. A list of the shuttle bus services and their contact information can be found at Shuttles.

Limousine Services

Limos are usually very comfortable and convenient. Most limo companies require reservations. The cost depends on whether the car is shared or private, and the traveler's point of origin or destination and its distance to the airport. It is not unusual for limousine service to compare favorably with taxi service when one considers the cost and comfort level of each.

Taxi Services

Taxis are normally very convenient, but may be expensive depending on your destination. The taxi area is located on the terminal side of Lower Level Terminal Drive. Fares start at $7, and may not legally exceed the amount shown on the meter. Be sure to discuss rates with the driver for destinations outside Indianapolis before entering the cab.
