Nashville International Airport is served by 16 airlines on 4,500 acres, with an average of 400 daily flights and 7.5 million commercial airline passengers each year. The grant-supported Arts at the Airport displays visual and performing arts from the Middle Tennessee region, including the Airport Sun Project (combining physics with art) and the Flight of Fantasy, an interactive play and rest area for visitors of all ages.

ADA services are available for those with disabilities, including paging for deaf and hard-of-hearing travelers, telecommunication devices, service animals, skycap services, escort assistance for those in need, and family restrooms.

Security services include the Airport Police, Containment Team, Hostage Negotiations Unit, Hazardous Devices Team, K-9 Bomb Teams, Hazardous Materials Team, Bike Unit, Medical Technician Unit, Investigations Unit, and Airport Equestrian Program. ATM machines are on the Ticketing Level near Wright Travel and SunTrust Bank. Baggage carts can be found on all levels and in each of the three Concourses. There is even a Children's Play Area between Concourses C/D and A/B in the Concourse Connector.

The Airport comprises three levels: Ground transportation on level one; Baggage Claim on level two; and Ticketing / Main Concourse on Level 3. Concourses A, B, C, and D are located on Level 3.

On Level 3 the main terminal separates into four concourses (A, B, C, D), three of which host the airlines operating out of Nashville International Airport:

• Concourse A:Continental Express, Frontier, United Express, Air Canada (Jazz)
• Concourse B:Delta/Delta Connection, Northwest, US Airways/US Airways Express, JetBlue

A concourse connector links all of the concourses to facilitate visitor passage from one area to another. The ticketing area is also found on Level 3. Level 2 is the Baggage Claim area, along with several services to make travelers comfortable and facilitate their connection to local ground transportation. Level one is the location of Ground Transportation where guests can arrange shuttle, taxi, limo, bus, car rental, and valet services ahead of time (recommended) or onsite.
