Physically, Pittsburgh International is laid out with what is called the Landside Terminal next to parking and the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Travelers pass through this terminal to check in for flights before passing the security checkpoints. Closest to the Landside Terminal is the airside Commuter Terminal, also called Gate E, which handles commuter flights. Beyond the Commuter Terminal is the main Airside Terminal. An indoor Moving Walkway connects the Landside Terminal to both the Commuter and the Airside Terminal. Landside TerminalThe Landside Terminal is a four-level building. The first level houses the baggage claim. The second level is the 'transit area' where the security checkpoints are located; it is to this level that the indoor moving walkway to the Airside Terminal connects.
