Car Rental

Alamo, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, and National all have reservation counters within the lower level of Greater Rochester International Airport. Those touring the surrounding area will find that rental cars provide freedom to travel at one's own pace.

Public/Ground Transfer

Rochester Transit Service runs frequently throughout the day from downtown Rochester to the airport and back. Rates are $1.25 per adult, 60¢ for seniors and children ages 6 to 11, while children under 6 ride free. Another option are the day passes offering unlimited bus travel for a period of twenty-four hours. The Freedom Passes cost $3 for adults and $1.50 for seniors and children. RTS bus service brings passengers to Midtown Plaza where Greyhound and Amtrak are both available. This is the least expensive means of travel between the airport and outlying areas.

Airport Shuttles

Rochester Shuttle Express is the airport's airport to home/business shuttle service. Advanced reservations are recommended. The shuttles wait outside of the lower level and then take passengers into the city or across the border into Canada. All passengers must have a valid passport or photo ID and birth certificate on hand. Large bags are allowed for an additional fee.

The Rochester Rocket is the free shuttle service that brings passengers from the Shuttle Parking Lots to the main terminal or vice versa. It is convenient and relatively quick, but large bags may be a problem in peak travel times.

Limousine Services

For a luxurious way to travel, many passengers like to pay the extra and travel by limousine. There are many companies who serve the airport and downtown Rochester. Diamond Limousine, Quality Transportation, and Prestige Limos are highly rated by previous clients. Rates generally start at $40 one-way to downtown Rochester using the smallest sized limousine.

Taxi Services

Advance Airport Taxi provides taxi transportation for all Greater Rochester International Airport passengers. Rates are reasonable, but there is a limit to the number of passengers and bags that can be transported. There is a $10 minimum fare for all travelers heading to or from the airport. Current rates are $2.50 per passenger plus 36¢ per sixth of a mile. The taxi stand is located outside of baggage claim.
