Car Rental

Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz, National and Thrifty all have reservation counters within the airport. Discount Car and Truck and Enterprise are also in the area and can meet passengers near the Economy Parking Lot. Rental Cars are perfect solutions for those who want to explore both Vancouver City and the surrounding areas. Those renting cars have the freedom to travel where they want on their schedule not someone else's.

Public/Ground Transfer

Public Bus service is available from the Airport Bus Station to Vancouver and surrounding suburbs. Tickets can be purchased from bus ticketing machines found throughout the terminal, at 7-Eleven Stores in the terminal, or on the bus. Those purchasing their ticket on the bus must have exact change. Tickets start at $2.25 (2.17 USD) for adults and $1.50 (1.45 USD) for children over four. Children under four ride free. The buses may not have room for a load of luggage, so those with a good deal of luggage may need to choose more suitable transportation.

While there is currently no train service from the airport, there are plans to bring the RAV Line to the airport terminals. This high-speed train line is scheduled to begin in 2009.

Airport Shuttles

The YVR Airporter provides regular service from Vancouver International Airport to downtown Vancouver. Tickets are available at the YVR Ticketing Office in the terminal or from the driver. One-way tickets start at $13.50 (13.02 USD) for adults, $10.50 (10.13 USD) for seniors, or $6.25 (6.03 USD) for children five to twelve. A special family rate of $27 (26.04 USD) is also available.

Limousine Services

Vancouver International Airport has a special contract with Limojet Gold Express. The company provides stretch limousine service that seats up to three passengers and their baggage or the luxury stretch limousines that can fit up to six passengers and their baggage. Limojet Gold Express has flat rates of $39 (37.61 USD) plus tax for the smaller limo and $45 (43.40 USD) plus tax for the larger limousines. Not only are these rates affordable for most, but limousine service is also most comfortable with plenty of leg room.

Taxi Services

Black Top Cabs, Bonny's Taxi, Coquitlam Taxi, Delta Sunshine Taxi, Guildford Cab, Kimber Cabs, MacLures Cabs, Newton-Whalley Taxi, North Shore Taxi, Richmond Cabs, Royal City Taxi, Sunshine Cabs, Surdell-Kennedy Taxi, White Rock/South Surrey Taxi, and Yellow Cabs are all available within the airport. With more than 400 taxis running regularly, passengers are guaranteed immediate service, even handicapped accessible taxis and minivans are always available without a reservation. Taxis can hold up to five passengers with one bag each. Rates to Vancouver average $25 (24.11 USD) one-way.
