Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport has received a number of improvements in the last decade. More than $3.1 billion is dedicated to expanding the airport and runways in place of building a brand new airport. One of the key changes was a more universal alpha-numerical gate numbering system that helps more than 35 million passengers per year move around the terminals more easily.

Two terminals make up the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. Humphrey Terminal (Terminal H) and Lindbergh Terminal (Terminal L) both offer covered parking, and many other amenities. Rail systems were launched to transfer passengers from the airport to the Mall of America, one of Minneapolis-St. Paul's largest attractions. This is a non-smoking airport, therefore passengers will not find any smoking area on the airport grounds.

Directions To Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport

Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport is located between downtown Minneapolis and downtown St. Paul. The airport is relatively easy to find and signs are easily visible from many area highways and interstates.

Those traveling from Minneapolis should take Interstate 35 west to Highway 62. Head east on Highway 62 until the turn-off for Highway 5. Head south on Highway 5 and follow signs for the Lindbergh Terminal exit. Those flying from Lindbergh Terminal should get off at the exit, but Humphrey Terminal passengers need to continue to follow Highway 5 to the Post Road exit. Turn onto Post Road and head west to 34th Avenue and Humphrey Drive. Go straight on Humphrey Drive and follow the airport signs.

Passengers traveling from St. Paul take Seventh Street heading south to Highway 5. Exits for Lindbergh Terminal are on Highway 5. Those flying from Humphrey Terminal should continue down Highway 5 to Post Road. Turn onto Post Road and head east to 34th and Humphrey Drive. Follow Humphrey Drive straight and follow the signs.

Those coming to the airport from the southeast should take Interstate 35 East and take the I-494 exit. Head west to Highway 5 for Lindbergh Terminal or to 34th Avenue for Humphrey Terminal follow the signs from here.

Passengers coming from the southwest need to take Interstate 35 West heading north to I-494. Take the I-494 exit and head east to 34th Avenue for Humphrey Terminal or Highway 5 for Lindbergh Terminal and then follow the airport signs.
