From downtown Pittsburgh, the airport can be reached via the Fort Pitt tunnels on RT 279 South, a distance of roughly 11 miles. Follow 279 South to RT 22/30 and then to RT 60 North approximately seven miles. This is the same road, however, the name changes. The airport exit is at Airport Exit #5.
