Louisville International Airport has a number of transportation services available for the convenience of travelers. The disabled can contact two cab services for transportation and all travelers can choose taxis, rental cars, limousines, and Louisville city buses. Many of the hotels in the area also offer shuttles from the airport to the hotel premises.
Car Rental
Louisville International Airport is served by Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, and Thrifty car rental companies. Reservations can be made by calling the car rental company of your choice in advance of your trip. The car rental counters are located on the lower level near baggage claim and vehicles can be picked up outside the west door of the baggage claim area.
Public/Ground Transfer
City buses are available at Louisville International Airport and are operated by Transit Authority of River City. Passenger pickup for the buses is at the east end of the terminal. Bus riders must have exact fare ready in order to ride the buses. Bus schedules are available for free from the information booth at the airport.
Airport Shuttles
The airport courtesy shuttle is available to transport passengers from the remote lot to the terminal from before the first flight departure of the day and after the last flight arrival of the day. Several area hotels including Country Inn & Suites, Hampton Inn, Hilton Garden Inn Louisville Airport, and Quality Inn & suites operate shuttles from the airport to each respective hotel.
Limousine Services
The airport permits limousines to pick up travelers at pre-arranged times when the pick up has been arranged in advance. The limousine services authorized to serve the airport are Ambassador, Community, Cosmopolitan Limousine, Person to Person, R&R Limousine, and Sand Dollar Limousine. The airport discourages travelers from using non-approved services, as they may not meet quality service standards.
Taxi Services
Louisville International Airport has a taxi stand and cabs are available at the traffic island on the left side of the stand. Two cab companies, Yellow Cab and Ready Cab, are approved by the airport for picking up passengers. Yellow Cab and Ready Cab can also arrange transportation for the disabled. Information about possible share-a-ride situations can be found by asking at the taxi stand.
