In some cases users contact us asking to uninstall when all they wish to do is disable the feature (Auto-Search) that causes SideStep to open when a search is performed at another site.

Below you will find the directions to disable Auto-Search as well as directions to uninstall SideStep completely.

To Disable Auto-Search

• Open SideStep by clicking on the SideStep icon in your Start Menu
• Click on the Preferences link
• Uncheck the box next to Auto-Search
• Click Save

Complete Uninstall

You can remove the toolbar from your Windows computer by selecting from the Start Menu:

Programs > SideStep > IE Toolbar > Uninstall

If you no longer have the toolbar on your menu, you can go into your Windows Control Panel and remove it via Add or Remove Programs.
