Description:
Sound Reach, recently recommended in "The Unofficial Guide to Bed & Breakfasts in New England" (MacMillan), stands on a secluded hilltop that offers a distant view of Long Island Sound on clear days. The park-like grounds are extremely private and no road is visible from the top of our drive. There are perennial gardens, an herb garden, a spacious deck with great views, and a terrace. Sound Reach was built in 1968 by a three-generation team of the Bullard family. The exterior is made of cedar logs and built around a door the Bullards sailed over from London--an antique door four feet wide with a brass lion's head knocker. The interior is spacious and Scandinavian in feel. Central rooms are two stories high with skylights and cathedral ceilings. All rooms in the house have two exposures. Visitors are welcome to use
