In fact he stayed for months at a time in what is now the John Wayne Suite where he and Pilar and the kids spent many summer days and nights. We have preserved the John Wayne Suite in his honor and believe it to be the best suite in Moab. While in the lobby look over the preeminent volume of Western Film History. "Where God Put the West" and learn why John Ford, Henry Fonda, Anthony Quinn, Dorthoy Malone, Yvonne De Carlo and many others made the Apache their home away from home. In the last three years we have "spiffed up" the motel with new luxurious queen sized beds, new and extra lighting, new bedspreads which make our rooms, we believe, as good as any motor homes. Moab is the largest and nearest city to Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park. The Colorado River with rafting and river excursions runs by Moab's north end. Moab is according to most experts the best mountain biking area anywhere in the U.S. and the hiking and biking trails must be seen to be believed. Did I mention that we are friendly?
