Renting a car in Mexico is a rip off. Once you think you have secured a rental fee you get hit with not only one type of insurance coverage BUT 3. So your rental ends up being very expensive. If you have a credit card that can cover your basic needs, IT IS NOT ENOUGH to satisfy the do call coverage. In addition, they send you a letter telling you that because of high demand your vehicle is not available, BUT they a wonderful upgrade for 3 or 4 times as expensive. We ended up renting from a different vendor, and ended up being less expensive and my credit card satisfied the basic coverage. However, we had to sign o declination on all other additional BS.

drop off was easy and when shuttle was going late, the guy offered to drive me to terminal, but then the shuttle showed up.

Cons:

1. They forced me to buy the more expensive insurance. They wouldn't rent the car unless I did. Another lady refused and they let her go, so my rental ended up costing 3x. 2. It took forever to get the car because they kept forcing the up-sell, while the family was waiting. It felt like a mafia run rental agency. 3. The car didn't have a front license plate and instead had this big piece of paper pasted to front windshield that obstructed passenger view.

Terrible service! They said it was mandatory to buy their insurance and that my card wasn’t enough. I asked Juan (supervisor) to show me where in their policy it stated this and he went to reach for it but then he said that the paperwork was moved by someone and he couldn’t show me. The folder with all their company policies was right in front of us but he refused to open it and show me. A total scam by these workers there!! I rented with Ace and they didn’t force anything on me 3 days before. Terrible customer service! Never rent here again!

Cons:

I never got the car, they tried to get me for more money when I arrived. I have rented several times and used third party insurance to cover the car. They insisted that the purchased insurance would not cover anything, they really tried to scam me. They started quoting insurance in the excess of $1300 until I was fed up with their approach and they tried to offer me coverage for$100 walking out the door. Internationally I will rent from My resorts from this point forward!!!! Word to the wise! Had I not rented before I probably would have believed them like I seen many others do!

Pros:

They didn't communicate price very well. We were originally told $25-30 per day when we called them. When we got there it was almost twice that, plus they wanted a $500 deposit they didn't tell us about. They ended up giving us the car for close to what they originally said plus a $300 deposit

Cons:

Communicate pricing more clearly from the start next time and mention the deposit. I also blame kayak for not posting pricing through the app. It originally said our trip would cost $4, which obviously isn't accurate. Have baseline pricing quoted at the very least including insurance.

Pros:

Jonathan was helpful and honest. He explained everything clearly and did not pressure upsell me on unneeded insurances. I printed a letter from my RBC Westjet mastercard company that declared that CDW insurance was included. I expected it to be high pressure slaes but the entire process was pleasant and i went back a second time to rent because i knew he'd be good.

Cons:

When i returned the car at Cabo airport i filled up right beside the Alamo office. The gas station attendant pumped the gas but when i returned it the Alamo rep (not Jonathan - he's in Cabo San Lucas) claimed it was slightly below full. Fortunately he said he'd not charge me.

Convenient location to many of the resorts. Car was ready. and clean

Cons:

Even though I prechecked in, it took 20-30 minutes to get car, and I was only customer Rate was quoted in $ with high peso exchange rate, bill was charged in pesos so final cost was somewhat more than I was expecting due to exchange rate quoted.

I thought I rented the car at SJD, but the office turned out to be 25 miles away in Cabo San Lucas. There were no cars available at SJD and when I called the Cabo office, he said he had no car for me. It ended up taking me over six hours to get to La Paz via cab and bus. I would never rent from Budget again.

Pickup and return of the rental car to the CVG Cincinnati airport was superb. Returning a car quickly is so important with the pressure of getting it done before the flight time. The staff I worked with at CVG was excellent both in picking up the car and returning it.

Car was good and price was great , although the waiting times to pick up the car was quite high since only one person was working. In addition the worst part was when the drop off occured where there was no physical person and the car park was full and there was no space to park the car safely, we called the appropriate number but there was no people speaking proper English to guide us had to leave the car in a bad way parked which stressed us as all sorts of issues could occur, can expect one floor of car park to accommodate all the rentals.

Loved the 2024 Subaru Outback and a dream car to drive with 7k miles. Last rental with Alamo 2 weeks ago was a old Malibu with too many miles and should be retired. First experience with Dollar and a 10 star everyone was so nice!

This would have been a good experience apart from two things: 1) the repeated pestering texts and e-mails insisting that I check in online in advance, which I tried to do but the system didn't work; and 2) HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I waited for over half an hour to speak to someone in India who was hard to understand and then in the end said she couldn't do anything to change my pick-up time because I had booked through a third party service, and gave me a non-functional phone number to try to reach the airport desk. What a pity. The car was fine and the airport pick-up staff were fine. But I will never use Dollar again because that company wouldn't let those people just do their job.

Pick up took almost an hour. They didn't have the van we reserved. Then they held part of our deposit because the drivers seat was barely damp when we returned and claimed they could not rent it out even though it was 5pm and no one was picking up since they closed at 6. Never renting from this company again!

$3800 hold on my cc because I had my own insurance which I have/had proof of. Returned the car and was charged $140 b/c of a scratch that may/may not have been there prior to me renting there bc proper pictures were not taken.

They asked for 300 usd extra on top of the price i payed online. They wouldn’t let me leave the car lot with the car without paying. The ad said there might be extra cost if drop off was a different location. But this extra cost was for nothing. I contacted priceline to get help but they said all they could do was cancel the rental which would have left me and my family stranded without a car. I am asking you to pay the difference as you are responsible for not showing the true price on your system.
