Pros:

Car was nice, clean, and comfortable.

Cons:

Rate at pickup was about $70 more than rate quoted. (This was quickly fixed.) Drop-off point was a Mazda Dealership - there wasn't any signage at all. I had to ask the sales guys if I was in the right place and, even after they pointed me to the right place, the only "signage" was a COVID notice on the door and a rug on the floor INSIDE the facility. When a customer is trying to return property you by a specific deadline, this additional stress is not a good thing.

Was not able to rent because if their policy for security deposit. When reservation was cancelled my card was charged for the rental fee a second time. $350 charged to my credit for a rental that never occurred

bad customer service. car was paid for with third party priceline. insurance purchased as well. come to find when we got to the airport to get the car we were denied because we were using a debit card. clearly using the debit card to pay should have been a prompt to tell us we could not use this card for the car since it was not a major credit card. I dont even understand the difference anyway. pay is pay. this caused us to be late to an event where my sister was lecturing and a dinner in her honor was delayed. this could have all been avoided if the person booking would have explained this rule

Cons:

We got a car that did not have a manual with information on how to access the controls. The car honked every time we tried to use the cruise control. And it took forever to get the ad by Serius XM to go off the screen. We finally went online to find the car manual and were then able to locate and use the controls. The car worked well after that. More importantly, the people at Enterprise couldn’t have been nicer to deal with.

The car was still dirty from previous usage (trash, cigarette butts, etc.) 1st car the maintenance required light came on so we had to delay leaving for trip in order to switch to another rental.

Pros:

The customer service representatives were very professional and knowledgeable, and the car was amazing to drive.

Cons:

Car had some garbage in it from previous renter. Also, I ended up paying more for insurance than I ought to have, but that one's mostly my own fault.

Cons:

The car wasn't full of gas so they said if I filled it I would be credited. I had to go back because they initially didn't give me the credit.

Pick up and drop off were easy.

Cons:

The lady behind the counter at the Lynchburg Airport was less than helpful. She seemed bothered by my questions. She was due any day to have a baby, and it really showed in her attitude. She should not have been at work, she should have been home resting getting ready to have a child.

The car worked and was clean.

Cons:

Lynchburg rental was just as bad. Horrible customer service. Was told I could go to the employee's job for her with checking the car in or I could leave my number and e-mail address and she could get to it later but there might be a late fee. Will not rent from either location again!

Pros:

Recommended a upgrade which I took advantage of. The Maxima was a incredible and comfortable experience for the 6 1/2 hour drive. The car exterior was washed.

Cons:

The interior of the car was not cleaned. Fingerprints were all over the back seat windows. Food wrappers were present in the car. The car seems to have needed maintenance as well. I was picking up some road noise from the rear axle and I also heard a bang sound when I took left turns coming from the rear as well. I did not feel the car was safe as it needed to be.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.
