Rent a Porsche in Pittsburgh

The car I reserved was not available at the airport. Instead it was located 10 miles from the airport and the location was closed before I could pick up the car. Left stranded at the Pittsburgh airport and no one at the Enterprise location would help unless I wanted to pay double and take a smaller car.

Cons:

A $200.00 deposit was required when I rented the vehicle (I was informed the deposit would be credited when I returned the vehicle.). When I returned the vehicle a day early, clean and without damage I was not given a receipt (paper or email.) Here we are 5 days later and no sign of my deposit. Disappointing.

The vehicle that was found and reserved through Kayak was not actually available at the location. Offered an alternate minivan at same price, but it would have cost more in gas for me to use it. Had to find another location that had the appropriate size vehicle and would honor the Kayak price. Original location was not helpful in finding another as they stated that each location was individually owned/operated and they couldn't guarantee anything.

Cons:

Vehicle was very dirty on outside. Windshield very dirty on inside. For the money you pay for a “premium” SUV, it should be clean. I had to take it to a car wash and shine the tires.

Cons:

There are very few agents, rental counter at Pittsburgh this closed and the signs directing you to the competitor counter to check in are not clear. Then you wait outside for 30mins to be helped to your car. It took 90 mins for me to get from baggage claim to leaving the rental car garage.

I was charged over $100.00 to use the turnpike. There should be another option other than just charging for unlimited use. I only drove on it from Ohio border to Pitts airport. Might as well just got an Uber or cab!

Tom at pickup sounded like a corporate robot rather than a sentient being while dealing with my pickup at which there were no cars that I reserved available. Thankfully the woman in the hut in the garage was more human and was able to do an easy switch (after I saw that there was in fact a car I could have in the garage). Either way I will be using Enterprise in the future—I never should have tried another company.

Absolutely awful. They Stranded me at the airport at 11:30 at night and said tough luck figure it out yourself. Told me to wait until morning when they would have more keys, which they still didn't after I slept on the floor of the Airport terminal. I'll be looking for a refund.

I prepaid for my reservation for an important trip and they charged my credit card with full amount in advance. I showed up to Hertz location but desk agent said she rented my car off to someone else. What a joke! She was also very unprofessional and called me “disgusting”. Horrible experience.

Due to a shortage of compact cars I was given an "upgrade" to a Nissan Altima. The car was too big to drive easily around my neighborhood with its narrow streets. After a week of calling and occasionally stopping in at the rental office I was finally able to get a Chevy Spark, the car I originally reserved. After that everything was fine. Service at the rental office was very good, but they did not have the promised inventory. The lack of inventory didn't seem to be the fault of the staff at the very cramped location of the rental office. The location doesn't allow storage of more than about 10 cars. I found Hertz's telephone and online assistance practically nonexistent. The only way to get the service I paid for was to do a lot of leg work myself. I will probably not use Hertz again because of this experience.

Pros:

In the morning at pick up, Chris was helpful. He let me know that I could bring my car back a bit later than original time since I rented it for the day. The front door said open 8-530pm but Chris said 5pm and probably a bit beyond that time for closing, since things had changed a bit. I got stuck in unexpected traffic and my ETA was one minute after 5pm. I called at 430 pm and let the guy (no name) I was hoping to be there before five but it could be 501pm. He said they would not be there. I said I really hope you are because he told me that there was no drop box and I was leaving in the morning before they opened. I arrived at 501pm and the door was locked the gate to the rental lot was closed but not locked and no one came to the door. There was now a letter on the front door that was not there in the morning at pick up that said counter hours 8-4pm. So I called Hertz and the customer service agent told me to drop it at the airport. Wow. 1 minute delayed cost me 90 minutes of additional time and drive. Thank you to the hertz guy at the airport. Wonderful.

Pros:

Was upgraded to a great car, an Audi Q3 SUV. Made the long drive from Pittsburgh to Boston pretty comfortable. Thanks for that.

Cons:

There was no ticket agent at the National counter at 6AM. Had to go out to the garage to find someone.

Pros:

Checking in at the counter was super easy - drivers license, a question about fueling the car and another about insurance and we were done at the counter! No pressure to ourchas ethe insurance. Easy access to the car out of one of the airport doors. Had a couple of minivans to choose from. Returning the car was even easier, pull in, let them check the mileage and the fuel level, and receipt in hand. They had luggage carts for us to use at no charge. Highly recommend!

Car had obviously been in an accident prior. Huge scratches and dents on passenger side. Car had message “needs maintenance” the entirety of drive and gas tank was not full on pick up. The inside of vehicle looked like it received a quick sweep but obviously was not thoroughly cleaned. Found trash in several cup holders and a hand gun magazine with bullets in console. Was very disappointed with the overall experience and told clerk about all of this but received no response.

Pros:

The Staff was fine. The problem was that the rental car reservation was for a different place than the Pittsburgh airport where we needed it. I do not know how this happened. The result is that I had to cancel the reservation and rent from a competitor who offered a much better rate than Avis.

Cons:

Since this type of error happens frequently, I think the staff should be prepared for it and supply a competitive rate to rent the car.

Pros:

The rep, Desiree, was so friendly and helpful. I had booked to the wrong location in PIT and she took care of it very quickly and really so warmly.

Cons:

The line took quite a while to move through before I got there. Not sure what took so long.

Pros:

Pickup was easy and smooth.

Cons:

Drop off: When I arrived at my dropoff location the lady told me I would be charged $200 for bring it to the wrong location. Turned out the Avis in Pittsburgh gave me the wrong car that was reserved for someone else, and because of this I had to pay for their mistake. I called customer service right after and fixed the fiasco, but I will not be getting my refund for up to 14 days. The lady at the drop off in Rome,NY was also not helpful.
