They kept trying to upcharge us for everything! Our original price went from $140 to like $400 before I said no to all extra charges. The drop off location was also INCREDIBLY difficult to find.

The vehicle I reserved had an inoperative AC compressor. Alamo quickly substituted an equivalent vehicle but the new car was EXTREMELY dirty from the previous family and had not likely been cleaned by Alamo. I was in an rush to depart for our family trip so I could not take the time to have Alamo clean the car. During the course of the rental period, I detailed the interior which was filthy and washed the outside of the vehicle. As I was returning the car at Orlando International Airport, the attendant asked me if I was happy with the rental. I explained what happened and what I had done. He instantly apologized and then offered to compensate me with a discount on the rental. I was overwhelmed and shocked that he would offer that to me without my asking. It shows how serious Alamo is about customer satisfaction. I would rent from Alamo any time I am on travel. Keep up the great work!

This was the worst car experience I ever had. My reservation was for 12pm but the car rental agency is. closed from 12pm - 2pm. When we showed up at 2pm they said because it had been two hours the reservation was cancelled and the car was already resold. BUT ITS NOT POSSIBLE as they were closed so how did they sell the car. Anyway they almost ruined our vacation but luckily there was a RENT - A - CAR across the street with a super friendly staff and ended up being cheaper. NEVER USE ALAMO IN DAX

Antony at the Salzburg Hbf store was awesome. He anticipated our needs and got us in our car quickly. He was courteous, knowledgeable and efficient. Great guy!!!

Cons:

Customer service. We wanted to shorten our reservation to 4 days with drop-off by 12:29 pm July 6. I called toll 1-800# & was told to call local # we rented from. I called there numerous times. each time the woman said she was very busy and to call back later then hung up.many more problems....

Pros:

Somewhat better pricing than other car rental agencies. No problem with picking up in Salzburg and dropping off at Munich airport (i.e.: a one-way rental). Very capable and cordial rental agent in the Salzburg office.

Cons:

All European car rentals seem to be insanely expensive, as compared with American agencies. I don't think it's just the higher taxes. A mystery.

Enterprise was a the worst ever. Car was not ready at pick up time. They tried to give me a mini van when I had rented a SUV. Then was told to pick up 2 hours later, and 1 hour later was told that car I had rented out was not rentable because of some exhaust leak. This place is just the worst.

Ok on the whole, but they charged me extra because apparently I didn’t return tank to 3/4 full, though it was above median. Also since I booked Enterprise via Expedia it turned out to be very difficult to 1) get in touch with Expedia and 2) change my pickup time (same day) in Montpellier. Both Expedia and Enterprise sent me to the other party. Impossible from US; same problem in Paris when I got there. Finally Enterprise said they’d do it if Expedia said ok. Too many calls too many intermediaries!

Even though the vehicle had been reserved months in advance, when I came to pick it up, on time, I might add, nothing was availble. All of their inventory was already out on loan. I had to wait for approximately 2 and a half hours in a stuffy subterranean Enterprise office in the Gare de Lyon, Paris without proper customer seating nor ventilation. The rental location was extremely hard to find due to a lack of signage and location instructions at the train station. Finally, when I did obtain my vehicle it was a much larger SUV then requested and it could barely make it through the narrow driveways in the subterrainian parking lot. The car arrived filthy with two of the logo letters dangling from the back tailgate. The employees were nice to me and did what they could do to help by getting the vehicle cleaned quickly and finding an office chair in the garage for me to sit in while I waited for the car to come back in “clean” condition. The drop off at Charles de Gaulle airport was simple and efficient.

While I was able to make a reservation online. When I left the airport to pick up the car. The person at the Enterprise desk informed me that they had no vehicles available. This resulted in me being stuck outside security at the airport all night. If I had known no rentals were available, I would never have left the airport.
