Pros:I got an upgrade for free
Cons:They gave me a car I definitely didn't want, it was a "free upgrade" to a car that was too big for my needs, difficult to maneuver in narrow streets, non gas efficient, ugly, old and with many scratches. I was not given other choice but to take that car. My preferences were not taken into account. I had to swallow it or cancel and start from zero with other company at midnight, after 18 hrs of traveling...
Terrible, expensive for no reason
Pros:At late night is difficult to find the ramp to the cars. We walk a lot around with heavy lugagge. No transport to the parking.
Pros:The staff at the **Heraklion** sixt was incredibly helpful, particularly when we got a flat tire shortly after a record-breaking storm on Crete. They not only allowed us to swap out the car with the flat for another car of similar or superior make/model, but they also lobbied on our behalf for this.
Cons:The Chania sixt was the polar opposite of Heraklion, when we attempted to swap out our car there. Thankfully, the Heraklion rep called the Chania rep and sorted it out for us. Thank you Heraklion Sixt!
Pros:Staff accommodating and kind
Cons:The car had a radio that wouldn’t turn off - very annoying - and the engine was gutless - a Ford Fiesta- a challenge in the mountainous regions of Crete.
Cons:I didn't know that rental companies were allowed to rent out cars this crappy. It was rusty and made clunking and clicking noises throughout the entire drive. We avoided driving it, so we spent a lot more time in the hotel than we had planned. I will never use Sixt again.
