Cons:arrived couple hours late due to flight delay and they did not have my car. They charged me $8 extra for per day for Toyota Yaris which was supposedly an upgrade from Chevrolet Spark. Imagine driving through I10 in west Texas and having to find gas station to refuel every 120 miles in fear of running out of gas. Problem was there were not too many gas station. In what world Toyota Yaris would be considered an upgrade for Chevrolet Spark? Just a gimmick to get more money out of customers pocket.
Cons:Only 1 person handling returns and her machine kept Locking up. Finally went to the office to get return checked in
The drop off location in Dallas Downtown was closed and hard to locate. Not the easiest car return. The customer representative in San Antonio was like a car sales person and very pushy with all of the extras that could be added, was an uncomfortable situation.
Pros:I upgraded to a car that was adequate to my needs
Cons:I needed to upgrade in size by one class and was charged an exorbitant amount because the Hertz agent knew the rental was prepaid. I was charged over 700 dollars extra (a more than 100% increase) and it was an incredibly unpleasant start tothe trip. I seriously regret using this service to prepay.

Cons:The past three times I have rented, the location has turned out to me several miles from the airport. Who's got time to check the address on each auto rental to make sure the location is actually at the airport. This time I spent $17 in cab fare getting there since I had pre-paid. It took an hour to pick up the car once I got there. After I left, I discovered that the gas tank was only 1/3 full. I filled it upon my return with $21 in gas so there wouldn't be a dispute. When I checked the receipt after getting home, my total rental charges were $66.02, but I had pre-paid $98.17, a difference of 32.15. The rental agent told me she had also credited my account $25 for the long wait to pick up. That should total $57.15 back to me. When I called Hertz, I was told that because I prepaid nothing will be refunded. Really??? Hertz seems to be more interested in creating rules to separate people from their money than providing reasonable service. NEVER EVER AGAIN WITH HERTZ!!!
Pros:Car was clean and comfortable
Cons:Pick up and drop off was terrible! Nobody at rental counter and still took forever after I called them. They were closed when I tried to return car at 12:15p on a Saturday. They would not answer the number left at the counter. When they finally answered they said I have to come back on Monday when I had a flight that afternoon! I had to demand another option. I ended up dropping at another location for a drop charge. They never told me that I could not return after noon on Saturday even though I picked up the car at 2p and was due to return it at 2p!
Cons:Had to leave work early to pick it up before they closed and it wasn't ready. The car had just been turned in from the previous renter. Clerk said if I didn't want to wait there was a truck I could take instead. I was going on a mid-US trip, a truck would not fit my needs. When I finally got the car, it was completely dirty on the outside, bugs and dirt all over. The clerk said he was the only one there and he couldn't get it washed. I asked if I could get a car wash voucher. He said no. I asked if this was a franchise, he said no. I asked for his name and manager's name. I didn't call, no time on trip. Upon return, same clerk was there with someone else. He completely ignored me while I was there and had the other person help me. At one point it was just him and me in the office and still no acknowledgement. I'm really not sure if he was on an actual phone call. I heard the phone ring, he completed the call and took another but no ring.
